What's On

PINK’s programme brings together the different ways artists, curators, organisations and communities use our space. Some projects are hosted by us. Others are developed through our in-house curatorial programme. Together, they show how PINK supports creative ideas at different stages, scales and levels of ambition.

PINK was built in response to a lack of affordable, flexible space for artists and creatives to make, test, present and gather. Because of this, space hire is not separate from our curatorial work. It is part of it. At the core of what we do is hosting: a way of making room for other people’s ideas without needing to control them. Through Hosted by PINK, our open-source space hire offering, we provide the space, support and infrastructure for artists, groups and organisations to realise their own projects. They bring the idea, audience and direction. This is one of the ways PINK stays open, useful and responsive. Hosted projects allow the building to hold exhibitions, events, workshops, talks, launches, performances, gatherings and experiments shaped by the people who use it.

Alongside this, Presented by PINK is our in-house programme of exhibitions, residencies and artist development projects.

At the centre of this work is critical friendship. We build long-term relationships with artists, often supporting them years before a project becomes public. We stay with artists through the less visible parts of making work: the conversations, funding applications, planning, problem-solving and production that allow ambitious projects to take shape. We offer artists trust, care, honesty and practical support, giving projects the time and structure they need to develop properly.
