PINK is delighted to present the Fine Art Graduate Degree Show (20-21). This exhibition gathers together 26 young artists, showcasing works made during and following on from their recent graduation at Manchester School of Art.
Located up the elevators, on the third and fourth floors of 86 Princess Street, the 20-21 cohort present a staggering array of practices whose achievements in painting, film, choreography and sculpture lay the foundations for many possible realisations as new works and future exhibitions.
For now, they have found freedom outside of social pressures to base success on collaboration and friendship, instead exploring the possibilities and limitations of sharing an exhibition space as peers and contemporaries. The tension between the contingency of everyday events, desires and ambitions created the catalyst for this show, and they feel that such anxieties can be observed within the exhibition, as if each cluster of works represents a vehicle through which we can view the present.
Guests are invited to consider the work of each participant by its relation to the exhibition as a whole, as this is one way we might capture the plurality of practices in which individual artists operate.
The exhibition opens on the 21st October and runs until 31st October. Opening times are Monday - Sunday 12-5pm.
Due to the nature of the building, bookings are required and chosen time slots must be adhered to. For more information on the exhibition and the artists involved, you can contact PINK directly via pinkmanchester@gmail.com or find us on Instagram via @pinkmcr_ where we will be sharing the works of the artists involved.
With special thanks to our project partners SEESAW and 86 Princess Street for their generous support in making this exhibition possible.
