Join Chris Thompson in conversation at PINK as part of A Saturday Afternoon with…, our informal talks series designed to foster dialogue and community engagement around exhibitions. These informal gatherings provide an opportunity to connect with artists, explore their creative processes, and discuss the ideas behind their work.

Chris will discuss The Vessel, his large-scale, site-specific installation currently on view in PINK’s second-floor gallery. Reimagined for the space, the work operates between sculpture, archive and stage set, turning the gallery into a shifting environment rather than a fixed display.

The talk will unpack how The Vessel plays with value, taste, preservation, violence and power where the artist places everyday objects beside institutional symbols — golden eagles next to cutlery, mammoth bones next to Battlestar Galactica. Breaking down the logic of collecting as we know it.

The session is relaxed and conversational, with time for questions and shared discussion.
