ABOUT THE WORK

2 Proust is an audio-visual work that takes two different English translations of an extract from Proust’s In Search of Lost Time and places them side by side. Through this doubling, the work creates a semiotic disruption that subverts the acts of reading and listening.

BIO

Bryony Dawson is an artist and curator working across moving image, sound, writing and installation. Her practice is currently concerned with modes of (mis)translation between language, image and space, and the generative possibility of their slippages and failures.
